Description
- Connect homes to detect emergency events and alert residents via phone or app, and initiate contacting first responders
- Demonstrate how to extend a connected safe home to everyone at a low-incremental cost

- Our project uses established Machine-to-Machine communications standards (MQTT) to provide real-time data to data consumers
- Actuators and Dashboards can subscribe to data streams from any data producer
- Most of the components of the sensing habitat are composed of open-source software and off-the-shelf hardware, allowing ready replicability
- The data habitat is based on a MQTT transmission protocol, with consumers subscribing only to relevant feeds, promoting scalability
