Benny has been engaged in programs that have transformed quality of life through use of technology for over 20 years. His experience covers systems / process design and meaningful data intelligence in the private sector before tackling the public sector during the past decade. He served eight years on San Leandro’s City Council and was subsequently elected to a Special District serving constituents and participating on local, State, and National legislative advocacy organizations. When he headed up County of San Mateo’s SMC Public Wi-Fi Program, he successfully expanding reach and adoption by underserved and unserved communities during the pandemic which received acclaims by the School District leadership.

His other work includes Federal Advocacy, NIST Global Cities Team Challenge (GCTC) for Wireless Superclusters. He also serves as an advisor for the NIST GCTC Cybersecurity Privacy Advisory Committee, the NIST GCTC Smart Buildings Supercluster and serves as co-chair to the NIST GCTC Data Supercluster.

Benny is happily married to his lovely wife Rose. His son Austin works in the tech industry while pursuing his post-graduate degree in Data Science and Cyberthreat Research.
