The Oregon Mass Timber Coalition (OMTC) is a collaboration of state, local, and academic partners advancing Oregon’s leadership in sustainable mass timber manufacturing, forest restoration, workforce development, and green construction. It received a Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to support the regional mass timber innovation ecosystem.

The **Oregon Mass Timber Coalition** is a collaboration among public agencies, academic institutions, and local governments working together to grow Oregon’s leadership in forest restoration and sustainable mass timber development.

Mission and Impact

OMTC seeks to strengthen forest-based economies, reduce wildfire risks, and promote sustainable and affordable housing through the application of engineered wood technologies. With support from a federal Build Back Better grant, OMTC is building the infrastructure and partnerships necessary to modernize timber production and construction across the state.

Build Back Better Regional Challenge

OMTC was one of the winners of the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s Build Back Better Regional Challenge in 2022. The coalition was awarded over **$41 million** to support economic growth and climate resilience through mass timber innovation.
